Following on from the Rola post, I thought I'd split the posts, as it was getting a tad long. Long story short, Plessey bought Rola in the mid-sixties and the line evolved into the seventies. For a while they carried Rola and Plessey names.

The Plessey C12P is the go to for guitar speakers, and you can find Rola Plessey branded 12PEG, which are also an excellent choice. The C12PX has a 'whizzer' cone to extend high frequencies, which can be surgically removed if you have a steady hand and something scalpel like.
