BALDWIN-BURNS: Buzzaround, Tag Board Layout

This is my slightly more spacious take on the original tagboard layout for the Baldwin-Burns Buzzaround.   Same size board and the same layout; it's just spread out a bit more to take advantage of all the lugs available.

BALDWIN-BURNS: Buzzaround, Point to Point Layout

So yet another variation on the Tone Bender MKIII...   but which one came first?   This quite possibly predates the Sola Sound Tone Bender MKIII, and was supposedly designed by Gary Hurst.

The originals were built on tagboard, and you can find a very accurate replication of this here

NTK213 transistors aren't essential - like any germanium Tone Bender build, hfe and leakage are important.  Low leakage on the first two, medium to high leakage on Q3.

BALDWIN-BURNS BUZZAROUND - COMPACT POINT TO POINT LAYOUT

This is just a little bit smaller - I often prefer the slightly larger build, as point to point layouts often need a bit more room, at least for me anyway.

BUZZAROUND - WORK IN PROGRESS

A few values changes from the schematic to make use of some excess parts - half Buzzaround / half D*A*M Buzzotron in some places.  Testing OC45s for the darlington pair, and OC76 and a few others for Q3.  The diode is an OA7 and probably makes no difference at all.

I'm either going to have to add a volume pot or do something about the level - this thing really has some output happening.

BUZZAROUND ON THE SCOPE

Input signal:  440hz, 130mv TRMS, sine wave input

1nf capacitor output - Lug 1 of the balance pot

100nf capacitor output - Lug 3 of the balance pot (note: I used 180nf input and output caps on my build as I have excess of these).  Check out the level compared to the input signal.
