The Sola Sound MKIV / MKIII - safe to say it needs no introduction, as what more can be said about this that hasn't already been said.
There's a wealth of information out there about practically every aspect of this circuit and its many variations.
This layout is for a point to point build, using large carbon composite resistors and tropical fish capacitors. Any Tone Bender MKIII or MKIV can be built using this.

NOTE: voltages shown are approximate, and HFE and leakage can be somewhat variable. From what I have tried, you definitely need a bit of leakage on Q3. I found breading this circuit more useful than reading opinions on the internet.
